We are happy to have your family as residents of the Village of Cleves. Your new community provides many of your local government services and this page is designed to give you information about Cleves and the services you can expect from the Village.
The Village of Cleves was founded and platted in 1818 and formed an incorporated government in 1875. The 2010 census has our population at 3,234 comprised of approximately 1060 households. The Village has a statutory form of government with an elected Mayor and six elected councilmembers.

VILLAGE SERVICES
Police Services
The Village of Cleves utilizes the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department for police services.
Fire & EMS Services
The Village of Cleves contracts their Fire and EMS services out to neighboring Miami Township. By doing this, we are able to offer around the clock fire and EMS services to our residents. Please contact the township administration office at 941-2466 with questions.
Maintenance Department
The Village Maintenance Department addresses maintenance of our Village streets - pothole patching, salt and snow plow services - as well as grass cutting, litter and trash control on streets and Village right of ways and routine maintenance of Village vehicles.
Building & Zoning
The Village of Cleves has been certified by the State of Ohio to operate a Residential and Non-Residential Building Department. We also have a Zoning Code Enforcement Officer who addresses all zoning needs.
Utility Services
Water
The Village of Cleves operates a water plant that provides water to all Village residents and households and businesses outside of the Village boundaries. For more information about our Water Works process and facilities, please contact their office at 941-3490.
Garbage
In 1999, The Village of Cleves adopted Ordinances providing for fees and collection guidelines for waste collection services in the Village. The most recent Ordinance passed was Ordinance #8-2011 outlining the guidelines and procedures for garbage collection. When you sign up for water service in the Village, you are automatically signed up for garbage as well. You cannot opt out of the garbage service. Only businesses located within the Village limits that have dumpsters are not part of our program. You are billed separately for your garbage service and the Village saved our residents a significant amount of money by entering into this contractual agreement for waste collection. Sewer - MSD
Your sewer services are provided by the Metropolitan Sewer District but billed by the Village through your Water bill. You may contact Water Clerk with questions.
